Advertise on Where We Rolling
Rates effective September 2026
Nobody browses this site. They come to it with a gi in the car, trying to work out where they can roll on Saturday and what it will cost them at the door. That is a narrow audience and a very short decision — which is the whole reason it is worth reaching.
Before the pitch: the directory is new
It went live in 2026 and the listings went in ahead of the audience. Traffic today is small and mostly local, and we are not going to quote you a reach figure to hide that — a number on a sales page ages badly and this one would be wrong within a week.
So we sell on targeting and price, not volume. Every campaign reports its own real impressions and clicks, we will tell you what the current numbers look like before you commit, and if the audience is not there yet for what you are selling, we will say so and you can come back later. Ask, and you get the actual figures.
Two ways to advertise
Promote your academy
$10 / month · cancel any time
- Your listing is pinned to the top of searches near you, as a real listing card with your logo, schedule and prices — not a banner.
- Marked Sponsored, always.
- It only appears in searches your gym genuinely matches. Someone filtering for a free Tuesday open mat will not be shown you if that is not what you run.
- Impressions and clicks reported back to you.
Reach the community
TALK TO US · priced per campaign
- For gear brands, seminars, camps, physios, insurers — anyone with something practitioners actually want.
- Your image and copy, at the top of the results or inside the feed.
- Targeted by radius around a point, or by whole states.
- Daily impression caps, fixed start and end dates, and a weighting if you are running alongside other campaigns.
How the targeting works
Every campaign is matched against the search someone actually ran, not against a profile of who we think they are. There is no ad network here and no behavioural data to sell you.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Radius | A point and a distance. An ad for a Daytona gym is never shown to someone searching San Diego. |
| States | One or more states, for anything sold nationally but not everywhere. |
| Daily cap | A hard ceiling on impressions per day, so a budget lasts the month instead of the first weekend. |
| Dates | Fixed start and end. A seminar ad stops the day the seminar happens. |
| Weight | How often you win a slot against other live campaigns in the same place. |
What you get told
Impressions, clicks, and the click-through rate between them, counted per campaign per day. An impression is counted when an ad is actually served into a page — a sponsored academy card counts only once it has passed the searcher's own filters, so a listing that was filtered out was never shown and is never billed for. A click is counted when someone goes through it. Ask for the numbers any time and you get the real ones, including the bad ones.
The counting is aggregate — a daily tally per campaign. We do not know who saw your ad, because we do not collect that about anybody.
What we will not do
This directory exists because gym websites go stale and every academy has 4.8 stars. It only works if what is on a listing is true. So the advertising has limits, and they are not negotiable at any price:
- Paid placement is always labelled and always additive. We do not re-order unpaid listings for money, and we never have.
- Advertising never touches listing data. Not prices, not schedules, not the open-mat confirmation badge, not review content. You cannot buy a confirmation and you cannot buy a review — reviews require a filed visit report first, and that is enforced in the database, not by policy.
- No ad may be dressed as a listing for a gym that is not yours.
- No tracking cookies, no pixels, no third-party ad network. If you need a retargeting tag, we are not the right site — see our privacy policy, which we intend to keep true.
- We turn down anything we would not send a white belt to.
Teaching privates? That is a listing, not an ad
If you teach private lessons, you do not want any of the above. You want to be in the directory rather than advertised alongside it, and that is a different thing at a different price: $24 a year, paid upfront, purple belt and up. You keep the whole lesson fee — the site never touches the payment for the lesson itself.
It is listed here for completeness, not as a third product on this page. Paid placement and being listed are deliberately separate: an advert is labelled and sits on top of the results, whereas a private lesson listing is ordinary directory content that happens to be subscriber-only. Nothing on this page buys you either a better position in the private lesson results or a review.
