Terms of Service
Effective September 2, 2026 · Last updated September 2, 2026
Where We Rolling is a directory of Brazilian jiu-jitsu open mats, drop-ins, seminars and private instructors. It exists because gym websites go stale. These terms cover what we owe you, what you owe us, and what happens when someone abuses it.

1. Who we are
Where We Rolling is operated by PYTech LLC, a Florida limited liability company of 818 Palm Grove Ct, South Daytona, FL 32119 ("we", "us"). The site is wherewerolling.com. "You" means whoever is using it.
Using the site means you accept these terms. If you do not, do not use it.
2. Who may use the site
You must be at least 18 to hold an account. Younger practitioners are welcome in the gyms this site lists; they should not be creating accounts, filing reports, writing reviews or contacting instructors here. A parent or guardian can do those things on their behalf from their own account.
If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete what it posted.
3. Accounts
Signing in works by emailed link — there is no password to steal or reset. Anyone with access to your inbox can sign in as you, so treat that inbox as the key to the account. A sign-in link is valid for twenty minutes and can be used once. A signed-in session lasts thirty days.
One person, one account. Accounts are not typed at signup: the same account can review a gym, manage a gym you own and hold a private-lesson listing. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
Use a real first name and last initial as your display name. Reports and reviews carry it, and attribution to a real person is a large part of why they are worth reading.
4. What the listings are, and are not
Most listings on this site are compiled from public sources and have not been confirmed by the academy. A listing is not an endorsement, a partnership, or a claim that we have been there.
Every gym carries a confirmation badge, and it means something specific:
| Badge | What it means |
|---|---|
| Confirmed | Two or more different people, neither of them the gym's owner, filed a report in the last 45 days saying the open mat ran. |
| Stale | Someone confirmed it between 46 and 120 days ago. Nobody has since. |
| Unconfirmed | Nobody has reported on it inside 120 days. The schedule may be right. Nobody has checked. |
Call the gym before you drive. Times move, mats get booked for tournaments, gyms close. A confirmed badge means two people found it running recently, not that it is running today.
Prices are the same. A drop-in fee shown here is what the gym published or what visitors reported paying. It is not a quote and we cannot hold anyone to it.
5. Visit reports
A visit report says you went to a particular gym on a particular day, and answers whether the open mat ran, what you paid, roughly how many people were on the mat and how you were treated. Only file one for a visit you actually made.
Reports drive the confirmation badge, so a false one does real damage — it sends other people across town for a mat that is not running. Reports are limited to one per gym per day and five per day per account, and reports older than 60 days cannot be filed at all.
An owner may report on their own gym: they are often the first to know the mat was called off. Those reports count towards the notes, the typical fee and the cancellations, but never towards the confirmation count. A listing cannot confirm itself.
6. Reviews
You cannot review a gym unless you have first filed a visit report for it. This is deliberate and there is no way around it. The most common attack on a directory like this is a rival academy writing reviews for a gym nobody at that academy has ever set foot in.
If you manage a gym you cannot review it. You can respond to reviews of it, publicly, once.
Write about what happened on the mat: whether the open mat ran, what it cost, the level, how visitors were treated. See the Community Guidelines for what gets removed.
7. Gym listings and ownership claims
Anyone with an account can submit a gym. Submissions go into a review queue and are not visible until we publish them.
If you run an academy, you can claim its listing. A claim is checked by a person — we verify you are connected to the gym before handing over control, because a listing is worth something and a hostile claim would be worth taking. Once approved you can edit the schedule, prices, contact details, logo and photos, and respond to reviews.
Claiming a gym does not let you delete reviews or visit reports about it, hide the confirmation badge, or edit what a visitor wrote. Every edit to a listing is recorded with its before and after values, so a mistaken or hostile claim can be undone.
Permissions are per gym. Managing one academy gives you no rights over any other.
8. Instructor listings
Private-lesson listings are a paid product. To be listed you must:
- hold a legitimate purple belt or above, awarded by a recognised instructor;
- pass our belt check — an admin confirms your rank before the listing goes public;
- keep your rates, travel radius and availability current;
- hold whatever insurance, licences and permissions your own situation requires. That is yours to sort out, not ours to verify.
We check that a rank claim is plausible and supported. We are not certifying your ability to teach, and a listing here is not a credential. Students book with you directly and pay you directly; we are not a party to that arrangement and take no commission from it.
A listing goes live only when the fee is paid and the belt check has passed. Either one outstanding and it stays invisible.
9. Billing, renewal and refunds
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
| Product | Price | Term |
|---|---|---|
| Private-lesson instructor listing | $24.00 USD | Yearly, charged upfront |
| Gym promotion (sponsored placement) | $10.00 USD | Monthly, charged upfront |
No free trial. A new listing is created unpaid and stays invisible until the payment clears.
Renewal. Both renew automatically at the end of each term at the price then published. Cancel any time from your account; the listing stays up until the end of the period you have already paid for, and is not charged again.
Refunds. If you cancel within 14 days of your first payment for a product and your listing has not gone live, we will refund it in full. After that, or once a listing has been live, payments are not refundable for the remainder of the term — you keep the listing until the period ends. If we remove your listing for breaching these terms, no refund is due. If we remove it for our own reasons, or the site closes, we refund the unused part of the term.
Taxes, if any apply, are yours. Stripe emails your receipts.
10. Private lessons are for adults only
Every private-lesson listing on this site is adults-only. Instructors cannot offer lessons to under-18s here, there is no option to say they do, and enquiries about a student under 18 must not be sent through this site.
If you want private lessons for your child, contact the academy directly. Instructing minors brings obligations — background screening, supervision rules, consent, mandatory reporting — that belong between you, the instructor and their gym, and are not something a directory should sit in the middle of.
This is also why you must be 18 to hold an account. See section 2.
11. Things you must not do
- File a visit report for a visit you did not make.
- Review a gym you have not trained at, or arrange for anyone else to.
- Post anything about a competitor that you know to be untrue.
- Claim a gym you have no connection to, or a rank you were not awarded.
- Run more than one account, or make a new one after we close yours.
- Post someone else's personal information, photographs of people who have not agreed, or anything about a child.
- Harass, threaten or abuse anyone, here or through contact details found here.
- Scrape, bulk-download, or resell the directory. Reading pages as a person does is fine.
- Probe, overload or work around the site's technical limits.
- Use contact details from this site to send marketing.
12. Your content, and the licence you give us
What you write and upload stays yours. To run the site we need permission to use it, so you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting, and display your content on the site and in material that promotes the site, for as long as you leave it up.
Only upload images you took or have the right to use. We strip location data from photographs on upload, because phone photos carry it and few people expect to be publishing their coordinates.
Delete your content and we stop displaying it. Copies may remain in backups for a period, and a removed review may be retained in a moderation record.
13. Moderation, suspension and appeals
Anyone can flag a review or a report. Flagged content stays visible while a person looks at it, unless it is plainly abusive.
We can remove content, unpublish a listing, or suspend an account when these terms are breached. Where we can, we say what was removed and why. If you think we got it wrong, reply and say so — a person reads it.
14. Copyright and takedowns
To report content that infringes your copyright, or that is defamatory or unlawful, follow the Takedown and Content Removal Policy. It sets out what to send, where, what happens next and how to dispute a removal. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
15. Third-party links and data
Listings link to academies' own websites, booking pages, social profiles and competition records. We do not control those and are not responsible for them.
Where a Google rating is shown, it is fetched live from Google when you open the listing and linked back to the source. We do not store it, and it is Google's, not ours. Gym coordinates are geocoded using the United States Census Bureau geocoder.
16. Disclaimer
The site is provided as it is. We do not warrant that any schedule, price, phone number, address or rank shown here is accurate or current, that a gym will admit you, or that the site will be available without interruption.
Jiu-jitsu is a contact sport and you can be badly hurt doing it. Nothing on this site is an assessment of whether an academy, a class, an open mat or an instructor is safe or suitable for you. Deciding to train somewhere is entirely yours, and your arrangement is with that academy or instructor, not with us.
17. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, for lost profit or opportunity, or for injury, loss or damage arising from training at a gym or with an instructor you found here.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it arose, or $50 USD.
Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
18. Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of what you posted or did here — a defamation claim over a review, say — you agree to cover our reasonable costs and any damages, provided we tell you about it promptly and let you take part in the defence.
19. Ending your account
Close your account whenever you like by asking us. We will delete your account and your personal details as described in the Privacy Policy.
Visit reports and reviews may stay up, detached from your name, because removing them would change the confirmation record other people rely on. Ask us to remove them as well and we will consider it. If you would rather they went entirely, say so when you write.
We can close an account that breaches these terms. Sections 12, 16, 17, 18 and 20 survive.
20. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Claims go to the state or federal courts in Volusia County, Florida, and we both submit to those courts.
Tell us about a problem before you sue. Most things get fixed by an email.
21. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The effective date at the top moves when we do. Material changes get a notice on the site and, if you have a paid listing, an email at least 30 days before they take effect. Carrying on using the site after that means you accept them.
